In our country, a social gap is constantly widening, resulting in a lack of opportunities for a large population of young people belonging to the most disadvantaged social classes. This social problem, neglected by the state, exposes our youth to organized crime, armed actors and international human trafficking networks present in the national territory.

It is a source of opportunities for vulnerable young people who have the opportunity to attend the last years of high school. We want to bring a different vision of natural sciences and their application in everyday life. Through courses, internships, guided visits and funding to cover living expenses and school supplies, we want to provide greater clarity in the choice of their professional, technical and technological future.

Gentech professional profiling

It represents the next link in the process of guiding, preparing and leading Gentech vocational profiling beneficiaries, and new university students who had previously chosen the natural sciences as their career path. ECO-Tips

Eco – Tips, linea técnico-ambiental del programa corporativo ECO-GENTECH, que tiene como objetivo principal mejorar el conocimiento de los investigadores sobre las características de los diferentes materiales plásticos que se emplean en los procesos de rutina de laboratorio, facilitando la toma de decisiones sobre las características técnicas de los insumos plásticos y la idoneidad para cada proceso, mejorando la eficiencia y reduciendo la pérdida de reactivos.

Objetivos de la línea

  • Informar y educar sobre el manejo adecuado y la disposición final de los insumos plásticos empleados en los laboratorios de investigación y servicios.
  • Dar recomendaciones sobre el manejo y disposición de insumos plásticos, generando ideas o estrategias alternativas para aquellos plásticos de un solo uso
  • Generar nuevos insumos o dar destinaciones ambientalmente sostenibles a desechos que por su alta calidad pueden ser reciclados y re-usados

Green Lab Metrics 4.0

GreenLab Metrics 4.0 es una línea de ECO-GENTECH que de manera integral a los procesos de acreditación y Buenas Prácticas de Laboratorio (BPL), buscan que las prácticas en los laboratorios se adelanten de manera que se garantice la bioseguridad en el ambiente interno y externo del laboratorio, al igual que  la sostenibilidad económica y ambiental.

Objetivos de la línea

  • Fortalecer los conocimientos y prácticas en los laboratorios que minimicen, anulen e incluso revierten el impacto ambiental.
  • Optimizar procesos (sustitución de químicos tóxicos), simplificar métodos (menor o micro escala) y optimizar flujogramas/espacios.
  • Valorar estrategias de consumo y ahorro energético que permitan mejorar la eficiencia en el uso de la energía y determinar el nivel o grado de requerimientos de actualización tecnológica por área del laboratorio.

GreenLab Metrics 4.0, es una propuesta de ECO-GENTECH que de manera integral a los procesos de acreditación y Buenas Prácticas de Laboratorio (BPL), se articula con los requerimientos internacionales  que buscan que las prácticas en  los laboratorios de investigación y servicios se adelanten de manera que se garantice la bioseguridad en el ambiente interno y externo del laboratorio, al igual que  la sostenibilidad económica y ambiental. 

El programa busca fortalecer los conocimientos y prácticas en los laboratorios que minimicen, anulen e incluso reviertan en impacto ambiental negativo, mejorando (sustitución de químicos tóxicos) y simplificando los procedimientos (menor o micro escala), optimizando flujogramas/espacios y valorando estrategias de consumo y ahorro energético que permitan  mejorar la eficiencia en el uso de la energía y determinar el nivel o grado de requerimientos de actualización tecnológica por área del laboratorio.

ECO-Tips

Eco – Tips, the technical-environmental line of the ECO-GENTECH corporate program, whose main objective is to improve researchers’ knowledge of the characteristics of the different plastic materials used in routine laboratory processes, facilitating decision-making on the technical characteristics of plastic inputs and their suitability for each process, improving efficiency and reducing the loss of reagents.

Line objectives

  • Inform and educate on the proper handling and final disposal of plastic consumables used in research and service laboratories.
  • Provide recommendations on the management and disposal of plastic inputs, generating alternative ideas or strategies for single-use plastics.
  • Generate new inputs or provide environmentally sustainable uses for high quality waste that can be recycled and reused.

GreenLab Metrics 4.0 is a line of ECO-GENTECH that, in an integral way to the processes of accreditation and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), seeks to ensure that laboratory practices are carried out in a way that guarantees biosafety in the internal and external environment of the laboratory, as well as economic and environmental sustainability.

Line objectives

  • Strengthen knowledge and practices in laboratories that minimize, nullify and even reverse the environmental impact.
  • Optimize processes (substitution of toxic chemicals), simplify methods (small or micro scale) and optimize flow charts/spaces.
  • Assess energy consumption and savings strategies to improve efficiency in energy use and determine the level or degree of technological updating requirements by laboratory area.

GreenLab Metrics 4.0is an ECO-GENTECH proposal that, in an integral manner to the accreditation and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) processes, is articulated with the international requirements that seek that the practices in research and service laboratories be carried out in a way that guarantees biosafety in the internal and external environment of the laboratory, as well as economic and environmental sustainability.

The program seeks to strengthen knowledge and practices in the laboratories that minimize, nullify and even reverse the negative environmental impact, improving (substitution of toxic chemicals) and simplifying procedures (smaller or micro scale), optimizing flow charts/spaces and assessing energy consumption and saving strategies to improve efficiency in the use of energy and determine the level or degree of technological updating requirements by area of the laboratory.
