This kit provides a fast, inexpensive and simple method to isolate high molecular weight genomic DNA from different types of bacteria. DNA purification is carried out through a selective membrane called Biospin, which achieves pure DNA in less than an hour without the use of dangerous reagents such as phenol or chloroform. The kit does not require expensive equipment and consists of only a few steps. Up to 30 μg of pure genomic DNA can be obtained from 5 × 10^9 bacterial cells. The DNA obtained can be used in various applications such as real-time PCR/PCR, sequencing, Southern blotting, mutant analysis, SNP and others.
